COMPONENTS OF THE COVER
THE COVER IS COMPOSED OF 6 INDIVIDUAL COMPONENTS:
Cover, Frame, Locking Bar, Safety Lock, Gaskit Seal, Locker
Cover
The Rafibra 2001 covers are manufactured using glass fibre
reinforced polyester resins, achieving a higher resistance
with a thinner shape (24 mm) and a diameter of 950 mm.
Frame: Manufactured in galvanised steel
or painted with two coats of epxoy paint, and easy to
install. The gaskit is located in a special groove that
has been designed to prevent flattening by the cover.
Dimensions: Net opening area - 872 mm,
Total Height - 220 mm, External diameter - 970 mm
Locking Bar: The locking bar is supported
by springs, and follows the displacement of the cover
when stressed by a vehicle. There is no deformation. Locked
by the safety lock and gaskit, a positive seal is formed.
Safety Lock: Not only prevents water
and dust entering the chamber, but also prevents the cover
being opened without the special handle.
Gasket: Manufactured with chemically
inert material, the gasket perfectly seal the cover to
prevent any leak.
Handle: A galvanised steel bar, specially
shaped to facilitate the opening of the cover using the
special key.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Tests have shown that both sexes are able to open the
cover easily and safely in a vertical position without
damage to fingers.
MAIN ADVANTAGES
1. Hermetically sealed 2. Non-skid surface 3. Flush with
forecourt 4. Easy to install frame 5. Does not generate
any vibrations or noises 6. Locking device against theft
7. Locking bar can be raised vertically and fixed to provide
a safety bollard with reflective surface 8. Easy to handle
9. Corrosion resistance gasket 10. Big opening to facilitate
the entrance into the chambers 11. The cover can be printing
with your own logo or instructions
TESTS
According to Table 6 of standard UNE-EN 124, there are
different forces to withstand each class of cover and
closing device, where the area size is equal to, or bigger
than, 250 mm. Also the class should be noticed. Below
is a table showing forces, class and application.
The Rafibra 2001 cover has been tested by the Instituto
Technologico del Plastico (AIMPLAS) and applied to class
UNE EN-124 class D400
TEST CONDITIONS:
• Cover & Locking Equipment: D400 • Control
Force: 400 kN • Loading Speed: 3 kN/sec •
Size of the plate of loading force: cylinder of 250 mm
diameter and 80 mm of travel
RESULTS:
Residual deflection after applying 2/3rd of the control
force: 0.21 mm Result after applying the control force
during a 30 second period - NO FISSURE OR DEFORMATION
WAS NOTICED ALONG THE COVER AND LOCKING EQUIPMENT. Static
load cracking test up to 52 tons (maximum capacity of
the test bed). |
